2nd Annual SDC Team Showcase/Dress Rehearsal

Saturday, February 24th from 1:00-4:00

(Required for all teams)

We are excited to bring back our 2nd pre-competition team showcase!  At this showcase, all of our GROUP competition dances will perform in Studio 5 for the team.  This will give our dancers a chance to perform for an audience and show all of Little Spartans, PreCompany, First Step, Part Time, and Full Company what they've been working on so hard this season!  It also gives our dancers a chance to see all of the routines that they might not be able to see at competition without having to miss out on valuable class time.  We are asking all competition dancers to be in attendance, as we feel it will be a highly benefitial "test run" before our first official competition.  If you have a mandatory prior engagement and are not able to attend, please contact us.  Our first performance will be promptly at 1:00.   Dancers are dismissed following the final gorup, or may stick around to show their support for our solo/duo/trios (more details below).   A text will be sent to parents as our final group dance is approaching to give you a heads up to come back and pick up your dancer.

2nd Annual SDC Solo/Duo/Trio Mock "Competition"

Saturday, February 24th beginning at 4:15

(Open to all solo/duo/trios who wish to participate)

Solo/Duo/Trio dancers now have the chance to showcase their hard work while also receiving some fresh feedback from other instructors heading into our final week before competition.   The mock competition is completely optional and will take place after our team showcase.  Dancers can choose to participate or not.   If dancers do not wish to participate, they are still welcome to just stick around and support those who do choose to perform.  Here's how it will work:

Interested routines will perform in Studio 5 (either in costume or not, dancer's choice) for their peers and a panel of "judges" (aka our faculty).  The panel of judges will not include your dancer's regular solo/duo/trio teacher.  The judges will not score or rank the dancers, but will record audio feedback for the entire routine, just like at an actual competition.   All duo/trios will perform first and in age order beginning with youngest, then all solos will perform (also in age order).  Once dancers are done, they may choose to stick around to watch or may leave.  They will receive their audo feedback via text or AirDrop immediately following their performance.

We are asking dancers who wish to participate to bring a $5 donation per routine to the event for us to compensate our "judges" for their time.  If you wish to participate, please let Ms. Leah know by Wednesday, February 21st so we can let our instructors and families know the line-up and how long we expect the event to run.  Thank you so much!!!
