Beginner

A beginner aerial silks class introduces you to climbing, wrapping, and posing on vertical fabric. Key focus areas include building upper body strength, learning basic foot locks, and practicing safe dismounts

What You Will Learn

    •    Basic Climbs: How to pull yourself up and move safely off the floor.

    •    Foot Locks: How to wrap your feet to stand and rest on the fabric.

    •    Simple Poses: How to create basic shapes and poses in the air.

Intermediate

An intermediate aerial silks class bridges the gap between basic foundational moves and advanced aerial artistry, focusing on complex climbs, in-the-air drops, and fluid sequencing. Students build deeper upper-body stamina, refine their clean lines, and link multiple skills together without touching the ground.

Core Focus Areas

    •    Skill Building: Learning deeper footlocks, intermediate hip keys, multiple climb variations, and foundational single-fabric or double-fabric drops.

    •    Transitions: Linking separate skills into smooth, continuous movement sequences.

    •    Conditioning: Targeted strength drills on and off the fabric to build the grip, core, and shoulder power required for inversion stamina.

Prerequisites and Requirements

    •    Prerequisites: Must comfortably execute clean inversions in the air, standard Russian and French climbs, basic footlocks, and a solid hip key from the floor or air.

    •    Approval: Typically requires coach evaluation or prior intermediate-to-advanced experience.

Advanced

An advanced aerial silks class description focuses on complex skills, intricate drops, and choreography. It requires strong aerial inversions, endurance, and prior instructor approval.

Class Focus and Goals

    •  Sequencing: Linking advanced fabric pathways, open wraps, and footlock variations.

    •    Drops: Learning controlled falls, releases, and rotational tricks safely.

    •    Artistry and Flow: Developing personal expression, musicality, and routine-building.

Prerequisites and Requirements

    •    Inversions: clean, straight-arm and straight-leg aerial inversions

    •    Climbing and Endurance: Comfortable climbing to the top of the silks repeatedly and staying aloft for up to three minutes.

    •    Solid mastery of crossback mechanics, hip keys, and catcher’s wraps.

    •    Approval: Typically requires coach evaluation or prior intermediate-to-advanced experience.

What to Wear & Bring:

  •    Fitted Clothing: Wear leggings and a form-fitting shirt that covers your knees and waist to protect your skin from the fabric.

    •    No Jewelry: Take off rings, bracelets, and earrings so they do not catch on the silk.

    •    Water Bottle: Bring water to stay hydrated during the workout
